Configuring Resource Upgrades

It is possible to strictly define the upgrades and downgrades per resource. An upgrade fee can be set for upgrade operation and in case of resource upgrade a customer is additionally charged by an amount equal to resources rates (recurring fee) margin. In case of resource downgrade, the operation itself is free and a customer is refunded by the amount equal to resources rates (recurring fee) margin.

In general, any upgrade can be added. Please note that resources compatibility in this case, remains at vendor hands. Note that only resources with maximum units 1 and minimum units 0 can be composed in resource upgrade pairs. Resource upgrades between composite resources are also supported.

For resources of 'license' type, the default list of allowed upgrades becomes available after CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator plug-in is configured. The list of pre-configured upgrades is not updated online, and thus, it is to be manually verified with CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator representatives.

Important: Downgrades are not supported for resources of 'license' type. To change a license to a lower capacity, an existing license should be terminated and then a license of a lower capacity can be ordered.

Resource upgrade can be added both per resource and as a general configuration. Without respect to the place an upgrade has been added, it automatically appears in both places. All the available resources' upgrades are automatically propagated to service plans.

To add a new resource upgrade configuration:

  1. Go to Products > Resources > Resource Upgrades. The list of resources' upgrades available appears on the screen.
  2. Click Add New Resource Upgrade. The adding new resource upgrade dialog window is displayed. Fill out the form:
