Creating a New Service Plan
Depending on your needs, the service type, and how the service carrier system is integrated with CloudBlue Commerce, you can create service plans in a number of ways:
- (Recommended) To conveniently create multiple service plan configurations for different service types and mass-delegate them to resellers, use PCM and Product Inventory.
- For usage-based (PAYG) services:
To use the same usage billing policies as service vendors, to be able to receive and process vendor-rated usage data, follow Creating Service Plans for PAYG Services.
Note: Vendor-rated Data Manager is required.
- (Classic PAYG solutions*) For usage data delivered by APS applications, create service plans based on Operations service templates.
-
(Classic solutions*) For a broad range of services, to create service plans one by one, follow the instructions below.
* Not recommended for new services
A service plan is a package of services provided on certain terms and at particular prices. Service plan itself defines the refund policy used, subscription renewal settings and billing algorithm. These settings become subscription settings after service plan is purchased and can be configured as necessary. Other settings, such as taxation, are defined by other Billing entities, such as plan category and service terms.
To add a service plan:
- Go to Products > Service Plans. Click Add New Service Plan.
-
- Generic service plan (used for services not covered by other types)
- Domain Registration service plan
- Shared Hosting service plan
- VPS Hosting service plan
- SSL Certificate service plan
To create one of the enumerated plans, select the respective option at the starting screen of the New Service Plan wizard. You will be guided step-by-step through the specific settings for selected plan. To roll the wizard one step back, click Cancel. After you have selected and configured subscription periods for a service plan, you can proceed with service plan settings following the wizard or finalize service plan creation at any moment by clicking the Finish button. All the settings entered during the service plan creation can be changed later, when service plan is already added.
Note: depending on a plan type, the number of steps in the wizard (and their sequence) may vary.
