Initial Setup and Testing Connectivity

By default, Vertex integration is not enabled after CloudBlue Commerce installation or upgrade. To use Vertex as an external tax calculation service, you need to have the bm-tax-plugin-vertex package installed in Billing.

To install the package:

1. Log in to the MN via SSH.

2. Run the following command:

   # oa-update --billing-containers bm-tax-plugin-vertex

For more information on how to install the additional Billing components, refer to the Billing Deployment Guide.

After you install the plug-in package, you must configure connection with Vertex.

To set up connection to the Vertex service:

1. Log in to Billing PCP. Go to System > Settings > Taxation > Vertex.

2. In the General tab, in the Connection Settings section, provide your registration data obtained from Vertex:

   • Url : URL to the Vertex service.
   • Protocol version:
     • 9.0 – Vertex O Series
     • 8.0 – Vertex O Series
     • 7.0 – Vertex Cloud
   • Trusted ID: application token (also called "access token"), provided by Vertex.

   Note: You can switch between Vertex tax calculation engines by changing Url to the Vertex endpoint, Protocol Version, and Trusted ID.

3. To verify that the connection with Vertex is established, click test connection.
