Switching to Another Subscription Period

You can switch a subscription from its current subscription period to another one of its configured periods, including switching from a trial period to another trial period.

Note: You can also change the service plan of a subscription as described in Switching to Another Service Plan.

Important: When a subscription period is changed, the full refund period is set to zero for this subscription. This is done in order to calculate the refund amount for the case of subscription cancellation. All the other settings and options of the subscription remain intact.

To change the current subscription period to another available period:

  1. Open Operations > Customers. The list of your customers appears on the screen.
  2. Select a customer by clicking on the respective link in the Account ID or in the Account Name column. Properties of the selected customer's account appear on the screen.
  3. Switch to the Subscriptions tab. The list of the customer's subscriptions appears on the screen.
  4. Select a subscription you want to change subscription period for. To do this, click on the respective link in the ID or Plan columns. Properties of the selected subscription appear on the screen.
  5. Click Switch Period. Follow the wizard:
    1. Define when the new subscription period will start after the change by completing New Subscription Period Start Date:

      Note: When switching from a trial period to another trial period, only the Start Date of Current Subscription Period option takes effect.

      • Start Date of Current Subscription Period. When the period is changed, the new subscription period is counted from the beginning of the old subscription period. For example, a customer subscribes to a service plan and chooses a subscription period of 1 year. After 6 months the customer decides to change the subscription period to 2 years. As a result, the subscription will end in 2-0.5=1.5 years.
      • Date of Upgrade (default). After the period is changed, the new subscription period is counted from the date of the change.
    2. Select your desired subscription period by choosing the corresponding option to the left of the Duration column.
    3. Click Select Period to proceed to the final step of the wizard.
  6. Review the order details. Then click Place Order.
