Synchronizing Distribution Lists

An external AD may contain users combined into distribution groups. Upon synchronizing, these groups will be deleted, although their members will be successfully imported into CloudBlue Commerce.

To recreate the groups, you should manually add distribution lists with the same display names to CloudBlue Commerce, before or after the first synchronization.

There are the following possible scenarios:

I

  1. A group named "g1" is created in the AD.
  2. A user with the name "u1" is created in the AD.
  3. The user "u1" is added to the group in the AD.
  4. A distribution list named "g1" is created in CloudBlue Commerce.
  5. AD sync is performed. The user "u1" is a member of the distribution list "g1" in CloudBlue Commerce.

II

  1. A group named "g1" is created in the AD.
  2. A user with the name "u1" is created in the AD.
  3. The user "u1" is added to the group in the AD.
  4. AD sync is performed. The user "u1" is imported into CloudBlue Commerce but the user is not a member of any distribution lists in CloudBlue Commerce.
  5. A distribution list named "g1" is created in CloudBlue Commerce.
  6. AD sync is performed. The user "u1" is a member of the distribution list "g1" in CloudBlue Commerce.

These scenarios only allow you to synchronize objects added to groups. The syncing of the removed objects from groups in the AD is not supported.
