Configuring Common Settings for Website

To configure your website common settings:

  1. Go to Websites tab and then click on the site domain name in the list. Website dashboard opens.
  2. Click Web Hosting Settings. The Web Hosting Settings tabbed page is displayed.

Note: For NG Shared Hosting only: if a standard httpdocs and secure httpsdocs folders are used for site contents then Webspace owner can switch to a standard httpdocs folder for all site files using the Consolidated HTTP/HTTPS Folder option displayed at this screen. Attention: When website starts using httpdocs folder, the files contained in httpsdocs (if any) are not copied to httpdocs.

The General tab displays the current settings for several parameters that you can change. Here you can see the list of services that support the website. Each of the services may have one of the following statuses:

  • Unavailable or Not available in the subscription in a field means that the current subscription does not provide support of the corresponding service.
  • Off means that the service is not supported, though you can enable it on the Webspace.
  • On status means that the service is supported.

If you want to change the settings, click Edit to switch the screen into edit mode.

For details on changing PHP version refer to section Select PHP Version on Apache Web Hosting.

On Apache Webspace, you can also enable SSH access to Webspace, if this is allowed by the terms of your subscription (that is, if the SSH Access Configuration area is present on the General tab of the the WebSite Configuration screen).

On the General tab you can change the website State parameter by starting or stopping it.

  • If the website is Started and you want to stop it, click Stop at the bottom right corner of the page.
  • If the website is Stopped and you want to start it, click Start at the bottom right corner of the page.

The website state doesn't change immediately. Before the restart takes place, the website running state is determined as Stopping or Starting. The Stop (or Start) button is not active in this transition state.

Note: In the stopped state your site will be unavailable to visitors via HTTP or HTTPS, though the FTP access will be possible. Try to avoid the long-drawn downtimes without strong reasons, as it is always annoying when the requested URL can not be found.
