Changing Primary E-mail Address

If you have more than one e-mail address in a mailbox, only one of them will act as the primary e-mail address. This address appears in the From field of e-mail messages sent from Outlook or OWA.

By default, the first created e-mail address in the mailbox is set up as primary. However, you can select another e-mail address of the same mailbox or specify any custom e-mail address to be used as primary.

To set up another e-mail address of the same mailbox as a primary one, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Exchange Mailbox > E-mail Addresses.
  2. Click on the Change button located in the Primary E-mail Address area.
  3. Click the Mailbox e-mail address option button.

    Click Next.

  4. Click on the Set as primary e-mail address link located next to the e-mail address you want to set as primary.

Select the Synchronize Service User's login with primary e-mail address checkbox if you want the primary e-mail address to be used as the Service User's login.

    Click Finish.

Another e-mail address of the same Exchange mailbox is set to primary.
