Reseller Synchronization Options

Speaking of plans that are synchronized, we actually mean multiple entities related to a service plan: plan is included into some plan and sales category, it has subscription periods, resource rates, and resource rates are bound to resources (that reseller physically do not have). And thus, synchronization should be flexible. Consider the following example:

A provider added a new service plan in reseller service template, and also updated prices in the existing delegated service plan. The provider does not want to propagate the new service plan (just because he or she has not finished with configuring it, for example), he or she wants to apply to the reseller the changes in the existing service plans only.

To handle such situations – to be able to synchronize specific entities only – the synchronization process is configurable with the set of reseller synchronization options.

Synchronize Plans

Create new Plans and Plan periods

If you have added new delegated service plans, new subscription periods, select the check box to make them available for the reseller.

Note: During synchronization of newly created provider's plans marked as delegated, a new sales category will be explicitly created at the reseller's side.
Example: A provider created a new service plan and included it to a new sales category (that is, the reseller does not have this category). The provider starts the synchronization with the following set of options:
– The Create new Plans and Plan periods option is enabled.
– The Update Sales Categories, Plan Categories, and Grouping of Resources by Resource Categories option is disabled.
In this case, the new category will be explicitly added to the reseller. However, the further changes made to this category by the provider will not be propagated to the reseller unless the Update Sales Categories, Plan Categories, and Grouping of Resources by Resource Categories option is selected.

Apply Plans enabling/disabling

If you have deleted earlier delegated service plans under the Delegated Plans tab of the reseller service template or added again earlier removed delegated service plans, select the check box to make them available or unavailable respectively for the reseller. Namely, if a delegated service plan is removed from the service template, after synchronization it gets the Disabled by Provider status in RCP. If the removed delegated plan is added back to the service template, after synchronization it becomes published and available for selling.

Note: The changes of plan’s "Published" status are not synchronized by any of the options.

Update Plan Fees

Select the check box to rewrite prices in the service plans delegated to the reseller and delegate new subscription expiration schedules assigned to the service plan or its periods.

Update Sales Categories, Plan Categories, and Grouping of Resources by Resource Categories

The option Update Sales Categories, Plan Categories, and Grouping of Resources by Resource Categories helps you to propagate to the reseller all the changes which you make to the delegated sales categories and plan categories (that is, those sales categories and plan categories which include service plans that you delegate to your resellers). T

To update the delegated sales and plan categories for a reseller after you change the sales categories and plan categories in which the delegated plans are included, select the option Update Sales Categories, Plan Categories, and Grouping of Resources by Resource Categories.

Be aware that the reseller synchronization with the enabled option Update Sales Categories, Plan Categories, and Grouping of Resources by Resource Categoriesdoes not affect the sales category's parameter Display Category in Customer Control Panel. If a reseller has set a different value for the parameter Display Category in Customer Control Panel in comparison to a provider's value, the specified value will be preserved on reseller synchronization. For example, a reseller wants to hide some service plans from customers and therefore modifies the publication settings in sales category (the option Display Category in Customer Control Panel is set as disabled). The parameter will not be overwritten when a provider performs reseller synchronization and will preserve the specified by a reseller configuration even if the provider's publication setting is different. However, if you need the sales category's parameter Display Category in Customer Control Panel to be synchronized with your changes, the default system behavior can be changed. For this, please contact Ingram Micro support.

Update Notification Schedules

If you have changed notification schedules previously delegated to reseller, select this option to update reseller notification schedules. Make sure, that all notification templates used in schedules are visible to resellers.

Note: You can also select this option if, in a delegated service plan, you want to create a resource rate that was already in the parent plan, with a sale availability status that was changed from deselected to selected.

Remove Obsolete Resources

This option defines whether the resources removed from this plan will be also removed from the service plans delegated to the reseller.

Note: You can also select this option if you want to propagate the sale availability status for resources that exist both in a parent service plan and in its delegated copy.

Select the check box to rewrite resource prices in the service plans delegated to the reseller.

Note: You can also select this option if you want to propagate the sale availability status for resources that exist both in a parent service plan and in its delegated copy.
