Creating Service Template for Hosted Exchange

To provide customers with Hosted Exchange, you need to subscribe them to a special service template containing certain resources. To get the detailed information of the service templates, refer to the CloudBlue Commerce Operations's guide >> Managing Service Templates chapter.

To create a new service template, follow these steps:

  1. Select Products > Service Templates. A list of available service templates appears, if you have any.
  2. Click the Add New Service Template button to create a new service template. The service template general parameters form appears.
  3. Enter the service template general parameters:

    • Fill in the form with suitable values for the service template Name and Description. Try to find a name that will help you easily find it in future among other service templates. The description entered may represent features and peculiarities specific for the service template, or explain its purpose. This information is intended only for your convenience and will not be displayed to your customers.
    • Select the Autoprovisioning checkbox if you would like the template to be subject to autoprovisioning. This means that all the services will be created and provisioned automatically at the moment the customer is subscribed to this service template. To learn more about autoprovisioning, see the Role of Attributes topic in the Introductory section of the CloudBlue Commerce Operation's guide.
    • Account-wide Services – Select the checkbox to create subscriptions with services in the account-wide mode. Leave the checkbox clear to create subscriptions with services in the subscription-local mode. To learn more about the account-wide and subscription-local modes of services, see the Making Subscription Services Account-Wide section of the CloudBlue Commerce Operation's guide.

      Important:

      1. If the Account-wide Services parameter is set to Yes, the service template must contain resource types for one service only. For example, if this service template is intended for the Hosted Exchange service, include only the Hosted Exchange, Diskspace, and Traffic resource types. Upgrades must be configured in the same way. Source and destination service templates must contain resource types for one service only. For example, if a source service template contains the Hosted Exchange, Diskspace, and Traffic resource types, a destination service template must contain the Hosted Exchange, Diskspace, and Traffic resource types.

      2. An account can have only one account-wide Hosted Exchange service.

      3. An account can have several subscription-local Hosted Exchange services.

      4. To learn more about modes of services, see the CloudBlue Commerce Operations's guide >> Managing Accounts > Operating Resellers and Customers > Managing Subscriptions > Making Subscription Services Account-Wide section.

    • From the pop-up menu opposite the Type field, select Hosted Exchange.
  4. Click Next.
