Setting Up Load Balancer

After a web cluster is registered, you can perform the following operations over the load balancer:

  • Change the load balancer configuration.
  • Add another load balancer to the web cluster.
  • If the load balancer runs RHEL/CentOS having Linux Virtual Server distribution: Recreate the load balancer after OS upgrade or hardware upgrade, because all the scripts needed for the load balancer setup are stored at CloudBlue Commerce management node and applied to the load balancer automatically after changes are submitted.
  • If the load balancer runs a third-party software: Apply custom scripts to configure the load balancer for CloudBlue Commerce.

To add a new load balancer, perform the following actions:

  1. Go to Infrastructure > Service Nodes and switch to the Web Clusters tab. A list of already created clusters appears.
  2. Click the cluster name in the list. The cluster General screen is available.
  3. Click Add Load Balancer. The load balancer configuration screen appears.
  4. Configure load balancer settings:
    • Internal IP Address. Specify the load balancer IP address to be used for establishing connection with web servers within the cluster.
    • Login and Password. Specify the root credentials for the system to access server. These values are passed as second and third parameters to load balancer init script.
    • Network Interface for Public IP Address. Specify the interface name for public IP address.

Note: Configuration scripts for the Load Balancer server will be taken from the locations specified in the web cluster settings.

  5. Click Submit to save the changes.
