Managing Webspaces and Websites
A webspace is a directory on the server where all websites of a customer are stored. A webspace is tied to a user account and user's subscription. When a subscription term expires, CloudBlue Commerce suspends a user account, a subscription, and user's webspaces with the hosted websites. Websites become no longer accessible to the Internet users.
This section explains how to perform the following operations on websites:
- Change web hosting settings such as the PHP version available.
- Manually suspend, activate, and delete webspaces with websites.
- Manage websites on behalf of a customer.
If you want to learn more about the structure of a webspace on the file system, see Appendix A. The Structure of Webspaces.

Managing Websites on Behalf of Customers
You can perform the following operations on websites on behalf of your customers:
- Create a website by uploading files or by installing a content management system, such as WordPress.
- Preview a website before information about the site's domain name has propagated in the DNS.
- Suspend and activate websites.
- Select the PHP version and handler.
- Restrict access to web content with password protection.
- Protect files from hotlinking (only on Windows servers).
- Set up custom error documents.
- Limit bandwidth usage for a site and limit the number of simultaneous connections.
- Set up virtual directories (only on Windows servers).
- Create and manage databases and database users.
- View website visit statistics and logs.
To manage customers' websites, go to Services > WebHosting Plesk > Websites, and click either the link as Administrator or as Customer in the Manage in Hosting Panel column. Logging in as the administrator enables you to manage all settings and carry out any operations without restrictions, while logging in as a customer enables you to carry out only the operations that the customer is allowed to perform.
