Creating Resource Type on Basis of 'Application Counter' Resource Class

Applications may expose various resources, which may be monitored in CloudBlue Commerce: number of user accounts, amount of additional file storage, CPU speed. etc. To manage such resources in CloudBlue Commerce, you have to create an Application Counter resource type based on Application Counter resource classes.

To create the resource type based on the Application Counter resource class:

1. Go to Products > Resources and click the Add New Resource Type button.
2. Select the required resource class by clicking the respective link. The resource may be calculated in different units of measurement as defined in the APS package. In CloudBlue Commerce each resource is represented by the corresponding resource class:
   • Application Counter (KB)
   • Application Counter (kbps)
   • Application Counter (MB-hours)
   • Application Counter (MHz)
   • Application Counter (MHz-hours)
   • Application Counter (unit)
   • Application Counter (Unit-hours)

   Note: Resource classes of Application Counter (*-hours) group represent additive resources. Usage of such resource is accounted for subscription period only, it increases during the period and is reset at its end. As CloudBlue Commerce is integrated with Billing, then these resources must be Additive in Billing.

3. Fill out the following fields:
   • Name – Name of resource type
   • Description – Description of resource type
4. Click Next and select name of the required application. The list of Application Counters opens.
5. Select name of the required Application Counter.
6. Check the resource type parameters carefully and click Finish.

Note:
You can also start the resource type creation Wizard right from the Applications screen:
1. Go to Services > Applications.
2. In the APS Connectors tab, select name of the required application, and on the Resource Types tab click Create. The list of resource classes opens.
3. Select the Application Counter resource class, then follow the wizard.

If you want to let customers monitor total usage statistics in CloudBlue Commerce PCP, perform the following steps:

1. Click the created resource type in the list and open Activation Parameters tab.
2. Click the Edit button.
3. Check Show total usage statistics.
4. Click Submit.
