Upgrading Open-Xchange

Open-Xchange application may be upgraded at any time when a newer version becomes available, or after upgrade of CloudBlue Commerce (see https://kb.cloudblue.com/8849). To upgrade Open-Xchange manually, perform the following steps:

  1. Log on to Open-Xchange host as root.
  2. Execute the following command: $ yum update or $ apt-get update (see instructions specific for your OS at http://oxpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=Open-Xchange_Installation_Guide_for_RHEL5_622).
  3. Upgrade your Open-Xchange installation:
  4. Change Open-Xchange configuration file if outdated (see http://oxpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=Open-Xchange_Installation_Guide_for_RHEL5_622).
  5. Import a new Open-Xchange application version (see the Importing Application Version or Importing Application from APS Catalog section).

Important:

1. Before making a new version of Open-Xchange application available to customers, we recommend that you validate that the application can be upgraded/provisioned and runs properly. This can be performed from Hosting CP.

2. If you upgrade Open-Xchange application to version 6.16.1, you should apply the http://software.open-xchange.com/OX6/private/3b5d7f77e50ec583057487ae44c55589/6.16/ptf/ptf_2010-04-16_2010041410000152_parallels/ hotfix.

3. If Open-Xchange version is 6.16.1 or greater, set com.openexchange.easylogin.allowInsecureTransmission = true in the configuration file located at /opt/open-xchange/etc/groupware/easylogin.properties.

4. If you upgrade Open-Xchange application to version 6.16.1 and Open-Xchange OXtender for Business Mobility is installed, you should install the hotfix located at http://software.open-xchange.com/OX6/private/3b5d7f77e50ec583057487ae44c55589/6.16/ptf/ptf_2010-05-12_2010050410000062_parallels/ (requires activated account at Open-Xchange Maintenance Portal).

5. If you upgrade Open-Xchange from version 6.14 or earlier, perform steps 3-11 of the Configuring Open-Xchange Plug-ins section.

6. Open-Xchange is not upgraded automatically with CloudBlue Commerce.
