Enabling Approval Engine for a Reseller

For an existing reseller to be able to use Approval Engine, you must add a specific resource to their subscription.

Note: You need to include the resource to the subscription of a reseller, but not subresellers.

To do this, perform these steps:

  1. Log in to the provider control panel.
  2. Go to Services > Applications.
  3. Find the Approval Engine application and click its name.
  4. Open the Resource Types tab and click Create.
  5. Choose Application Service Reference.
  6. Specify the resource name, for example, Approval Engine for Resellers, provide a description and click Next.
  7. Click the approvalmanagement APS type and then click the only resource in the list.
  8. Review the changes and click Finish to create the resource.
  9. Clone the reseller service template. For instructions, refer to Cloning Service Template.

    Note
    - If you need to enable AE only for new resellers, create a new service template instead.
    - Currently, AE can only be enabled for resellers created through the operations service template.

  10. Add the Approval Engine resource to the cloned service template. For instructions, refer to Editing Resources and Limits for a Service Template.

  11. Create a new reseller service plan based on this service template. For instructions, refer to Creating a New Service Plan.
  12. Make it possible to upgrade from the original reseller service plan to the new one and switch the reseller to the new service plan. For instructions, refer to Switching to Another Service Plan.
  13. After that, Approval Engine is enabled for this reseller and you need to proceed with creating roles for the reseller staff.
