Adding an Enumerator Class

Important: You can create and assign draft or permanent numbers to AR documents. For that, you must create draft enumerator classes first. Refer to Creating Draft Enumerator Classes and Configuring Continuous Numeration of AR Documents.

Billing is delivered with a set of pre-configured enumerator classes for all document types. You can use the default enumerator classes, or customize or add new ones as well.

To add an enumerator class:

  1. Go to System > Settings > More Finance Settings > Enumerator Classes.
  2. Click Add New Enumerator Class.
  3. Type the unique ID of enumerator class in the ID field.
  4. Type the enumerator class name in the Name field.
  5. Type a prefix in the Prefix Template field.

Use this template to specify a prefix for an AR Document number, such as your own combination of letters or the @@FY@ placeholder, which states the current financial year. For example: 2021, which means the financial year that begins in 2020 and ends in 2021.

  6. Type a digital document numbering pattern in the Last Doc Number field.

For example: Sales orders with the "SO" prefix template and the "000000" last document number will receive the "SO00001" number for the first sales order, "SO00002" for the second order, and so on.

Note: When the @@FY@ placeholder is used, the system resets numbering for AR Documents at the beginning of each new financial year.

  7. Click Save.

After saving, the combination of a prefix template and a last document number will be displayed as Final Doc Number.
