Configuring Application Provisioning for Resellers

Some APS 2.x applications embed their provisioning configuration parameters to a platform service template. This makes it possible to configure application provisioning for each reseller without configuring a new application from scratch. A provider needs to delegate a service template and service plan of that application to resellers. Also, a reseller must get access to the reseller profile resource through the delegated service template. This section provides detailed instructions on how to do this.

The instructions below require the following prerequisites:

  • An APS application must be deployed.
  • The application must embed its provisioning configuration parameters to a service template.
  • A service template and a service plan for the application must be configured.
  • Reseller parameters must be configured for the reseller profile resource.

To allow your resellers to configure the application provisioning, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Billing control panel, go to Products > Service Plans and open the reseller's service plan.
  2. In the General section, click the name of the service template this service plan is based on.
  3. In the screen that opens, switch to the Delegated ST tab.
  4. Click Add New Delegated Service Template.
  5. Locate and pick the service template created for the application.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Return to Products > Service Plans.
  8. Open Reseller's Service Plan and click Synchronize Direct Resellers.
  9. Select Synchronize delegated Service Templates and click Synchronize.

After that, the application service template will become available for editing to your resellers. This service template will have an additional tab with provisioning configuration parameters for the application. Using this tab, your resellers will be able to set up their own provisioning configuration for that application.
