Synchronizing Multiple Subscriptions with the Service Plan
Several subscriptions can be synchronized with current service plan version at once. Such synchronization is made from the service plan.
To synchronize subscriptions from service plan:
- Go to Products > Service Plans. The list of service plans appears on the screen.
- Select service plan subscriptions of which you want to synchronize by clicking on the respective link in the ID or in the Name column. Selected service plan properties appear on the screen.
- Click Update Subscriptions at the bottom of the screen. The service plan synchronization dialog window is displayed. Fill out the form:
- Select subscriptions are to be synchronized from the Select list. Following options are available:
- All Subscriptions - all plan subscriptions will be updated.
- Active Subscriptions - only active subscriptions will be updated.
- Non-active Subscriptions - only non-active subscriptions will be updated.
- You can set additional conditions to the Select field value:
- Click calendar next to the Start Date after field. From the dialog window that opens, select a date. Subscriptions started after selected date will be updated.
- Click calendar next to the Start Date before field. From the dialog window that opens, select a date. Subscriptions started before selected date will be updated.
Note: you can set one of the fields or both to make a period.
- Select the Update Subscription Prices check box to synchronize subscriptions prices with plan. Optionally, you can set the Update Subscription with frozen prices check box to Yes if you want to synchronize such subscriptions as well.
- Select the Update Notification Schedule check box to synchronize subscription notification schedule with plan.
- Check the Update Subscription Service Terms to synchronize subscription(s) service terms, whether subscription is renewed automatically and renew point with service plan.
- Select the Install new resource(s) check box to synchronize number of subscription resources with plan. New resource installation depends on Install into Provisioning System field value.
- Select the Remove obsolete resource(s) check box to synchronize number of subscription resources with plan.
- Select the Update Prices check box to synchronize subscription resources prices with plan. If resource rates have resource rate periods configured, resource prices will be updated only if prices in resource rate periods in plan have been changed.
- Select the Update Limits check box to synchronize subscription resources limits with plan.
- Select how new resource will be installed in Operations from the Install into Provisioning System list. Following options are available:
- Immediately - new resource is installed immediately after synchronization.
- Resource Order - after synchronization, resource order is created and resource is installed in Operations after the order is approved.
- Not install - new resource is not installed in Operations. This option is used if plan is changed after resource has been installed in Operations.
Note: if a customer has turned on or off the auto-renew option for his/her subscription, it will stay unchanged even if Update Service Terms synchronization option is selected.
- Select subscriptions are to be synchronized from the Select list. Following options are available:
- Click Synchronize to update subscription parameters to plan.
Warning: If you open a service plan, go to Edit> Billing Terms, and then you edit the "Set Recurring Prices per" option for a service plan, changes will be propagated only to new subscriptions. Existing subscriptions will not be affected.
To modify the "Set Recurring Prices per" option for existing subscriptions, you need to create a new service plan with the required configuration, then assign it to the existing subscriptions using a change order.
Synchronizing subscriptions with the Freeze Prices option enabled
The Freeze Prices option allows keeping a subscription prices unchanged in case the subscription is synchronized with the changes made to the service plan. For new subscriptions, the Freeze Prices option is disabled; its value is not inherited from anywhere. The Freeze Prices option can be enabled per subscription only manually.
Note: If the service plan is changed for the subscription, then the Freeze Prices option is disabled automatically (set to the default).
How the Freeze Prices option works on subscriptions synchronization
When the subscription is synchronized with the service plan with the Update Subscription with frozen prices option enabled, then prices for the subscription fees and resource fees will be changed to the same amounts as in the service plan.
