Synchronizing and Upgrading Licenses
Licenses status is checked regularly in respect to consistency with actual licenses' offerings at the CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator side. This check is called synchronization and performed daily since it is bound to Billing daily billing process.
In case a license key has been changed, or features have been added or removed; finally, if a license has been terminated at CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator side, a license synchronization status becomes Not In Sync.
A license in the Not In Sync status can stay in use, but only till its expiration date. Thus, if possible, it is better to resolve the mismatch by upgrading a license.
Licenses that are in the In Sync status, can be upgraded as well. In this case, CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator plug-in sends to CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator server a request for a new license configuration (for example, increased capacity or features to be added). CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator server returns a new license key that corresponds to the requested configuration. A license stays in place, but with upgraded configuration and a new key number.
The quickest way to know about a license configuration mismatch, it to manually start license synchronization. Synchronization can be ran for a particular license or for all licenses stored at Billing side.
To synchronize a license:
- Open Services > Licenses. The list of all licenses is displayed.
- Select a license by clicking on respective link in the License ID or Key Number column. The license details appear on the screen.
- Click Sync License. The synchronization process takes few seconds. When finished, a license status either becomes In Sync or remains Not In Sync and a message appears telling what particular mismatch takes place. In the latter case, we recommend that you upgrade the license to bring it in correspondence with information stored at CloudBlue Commerce Key Administrator server side.
To synchronize all licenses at once:
- Open Services > Licenses. The list of all licenses is displayed.
- Click Sync All Licenses.
To upgrade a license:
- Open Services > Licenses. The list of all licenses is displayed.
- Select a license by clicking on respective link in the License ID or Key Number column. The license details appear on the screen.
- Click Upgrade License. The license upgrade wizard starts.
- The license properties available for upgrade appear on the screen. The license settings depend on the license class you have selected.
- Specify the license capacity, select additional features (if any). Licenses are upgraded in several steps, including prices setup and upgrade order placement, click Next and proceed.
After upgrade is completed, a license synchronization status becomes In Sync. If not, repeat synchronization manually.
