Instead of installing a new version under a new path, you may want to install a new version on an already existing instance. It means that under the same path, you can replace an old version with a newer one.
The upgrade process is possible if there is a new version in your subscription, and you have at least one instance with an older version. Otherwise, the Upgrade button is unavailable.
To upgrade a version on an instance, perform the following steps:
- Select the application you want to upgrade.
- Click on the Upgrade button.
- Select a version you want to upgrade to.

On the final Wizard screen you can see two groups:
- Instances to be processed. Here the instances are listed which have older versions than the version you have selected to upgrade to. These instances will be upgraded.
- Instances to be skipped. Here the instances are listed which have the same version you have selected to upgrade to, or newer ones. These instances will not be upgraded.
Click Finish to start the upgrade.
For the visitors of your website, the upgrade process will pass unnoticed. They just will use the upgraded version as they used the old one.
