Switching To Another Service Plan

Switching from one plan to another in the context of a subscription means that subscription changes only with regard to services and conditions that depend on a service plan; all other subscription settings and options remain unchanged.

The ability of switching from one plan to another is up to your vendor. Thus, it is not necessary that for your current service plan there are one or more plans for upgrade or downgrade. Your vendor may allow upgrades or downgrades only or even disallow switching to another plan.

To switch service plan of a subscription:

  1. Switch to the Account tab and click on the Change Service Plan link. The list of your subscriptions that you can change service plan to appears on the screen. If no subscriptions shown, switching your plan is disallowed by your vendor.
  2. Select a subscription, which you want to switch service plan for, by clicking on the respective link in the Plan or in the ID column. The list of service plans allowed for the selected subscription appears.
  3. Select one of the presented service plans by clicking option button next to the desired plan.
  4. Click the Choose ServicePlan button to proceed to the next step of the wizard.
  5. Select when the new subscription period starts by selecting one of the options from the Switch Plan Option set:
    • From the Start Date of Current Subscription – as soon as service plan is changed, new subscription period is counted from the beginning of the old subscription period. For example, you have subscribed to a service plan for a year. Half a year later you decide to change your subscription service plan to another with 2 years long subscription period. Thus, the resulting subscription period will be 2-0.5=1.5 years starting from the date of upgrade (or downgrade).
    • From the Date of Upgrade – as soon as service plan has been changed, new subscription period starts from the date of the change.
    • If promotion is applied to the service plan you awe switching subscription to, enter the promotion code into the Promotion code field.
    • Choose one of the subscription periods by selecting option button next to the desired period name.
  6. Click the Select Period button to proceed to the next step of the wizard.
  7. Look through the order details and, if everything is correct, click the Place Order button. Otherwise, to cancel order placement and roll back the wizard one step back, click Cancel.

Note: It is possible to switch to another plan for trial subscriptions that are currently in the Grace period. This option is supported only for switching plan (subscription period cannot be changed) and only for trial subscriptions in the Graced status.
