Sorting Order

Once you have a found set of objects, you might want to sort them. For example, you might want to display the objects in alphabetical order, or sort them from newest to oldest.

  • To sort the found set (or the whole list) in the ascending order, click the appropriate underlined column heading(Sorting button). An upward-pointing triangle will appear next to the sorted column heading indicating that the object set is displayed in the ascending order.
  • To sort the found set in the descending order, you need to first sort your found set in the ascending order as in 1 and, then, click the column heading again. This will arrange the found set in the descending order. The upward-pointing triangle will turn into a downward-pointing triangle.
  • To sort by several columns, hold the SHIFT button and click on the second header, third if necessary, etc. Thus, the list entries will be sorted sequentially by first column selected, then, if there are any identical elements in it – by second and, finally, by third. The numbers that appear next to each header reflect the sorting order. On the figure below you may see an example of the list sorted by three columns.
