Backing Up IM and IM Database Nodes

An Instance Manager (IM) node is stateless. All states are kept in a special database that resides on an IM Database Node (IM DB).

To ensure the high availability of IM, consider taking the following steps:

1. Back up the IM DB on a regular basis. You can use any third-party backup tool (for example, Acronis® Backup & Recovery™ 11 or later) to back up IM DB.

2. Back up the following files on the IM node:

   • /usr/local/share/PACI-im/IM-config.xml
   • /usr/local/share/PACI-im/system.properties
   • /usr/local/share/PACI-im/vm2vf/vm2vf-daemon.properties
