Manual VPS Backup

To back up a Virtual Private Server, follow the below instructions:

  1. Go to Services > Cloud Infrastructure. In the Virtuozzo list select VPSs.
  2. Click the Hostname of the VPS you want to back up. The VPS Summary tab opens.
  3. Navigate to the Backups tab.
  4. Click the Add New Backup button. The Create New Backup screen is displayed.
  5. Provide the following information:

    • Backup name. Enter any alphanumeric name that is descriptive of this backup copy.
    • Stop VPS. Selecting the Stop VPS option forces the VPS to stop.

Note: If this check box is cleared, the VPS is backed up while it is running. Notice that this option does not guarantee VPS consistency.

    Click Next.

  6. Check the information you entered and click Finish to set the operation to execute. You will then see the list of backups for the given VPS, whose status will be creating.

Backing up is a time-consuming operation. Refresh the screen to follow the backup status. When it is ready, the backup can be restored.
