Domain Transit to a Registry
The domain transit to registry option is a variant of domain cancellation and allows you to cancel the domain in both the Billing PCP or RCP and in the registrar’s system, and then transit it to the corresponding Registry for further management, billing and support. During the regular cancellation, the domain is ultimately deleted at the Registry's side. However, as a result of the domain transit operation, the domain remains with the registry. The Registry can then choose another registrar to manage the domain.
Limitations
The Domain transit to registry option is available:
- only for domains registered using EPAG
- only for .at and .de TLDs.
Preconditions
The option Destroy Service on Cancel in the domain service plan is set to Yes (in the Billing PCP or RCP). For more information on how to configure service templates, refer to the CloudBlue Commerce Billing Provider's Guide.
Scenario
The Domain transit to registry scenario works in this way:
- The Billing PCP or RCP user goes to Services > Domains, clicks the necessary domain and clicks Cancel Domain.
- The domain cancellation wizard displays the option Transit the Domain to Registry (unchecked by default).
- The user selects the option and goes to the checkout. Billing cancels the domain. The domain is also cancelled on EPAG's side. At the same time, the domain remains with the Registry, which can then decide how to manage it.
