Removing a Hardware Node
Removing a service node means unregistering it from the system. This can be due to several reasons:
- Hardware upgrade. You decide to place a customer's services on more powerful servers. To do this, you first migrate these services to a new server, then remove the current hardware node from CloudBlue Commerce.
- The service node registered in CloudBlue Commerce has improper network configurations. For example, you wish to reuse the IP or IP pool assigned to this node.
- Any other internal or external factors that force you to find another application for a given service node.
Important: If a node houses any active customers' services, that is, the services placed on this node are actively used by customers, CloudBlue Commerce does not allow you to remove it. In that case, all the customers' services must be migrated to another node that meets the same hardware and software requirements as the node to be removed.
To remove a service node:
- Go to Infrastructure > Service Nodes.
- Select the node to be removed by clicking on its name.
- On the right of the dialog panel click the Delete link in the dashboard.
- Confirm deletion by clicking Yes in the dialog window.
