About Rating Engine
CloudBlue Commerce functionality can be extended with additional applications based on micro-service architecture.
Rating Engine is a microservice that enables CloudBlue Commerce to calculate provider costs in each transaction, simplifies reconciliation and helps in profit and loss analysis.
Rating Engine has its own release cycle and is not included in the CloudBlue Commerce distribution.
Business Purpose
Rating Engine:
- Automates revenue rating in each transaction for the whole distribution chain.
- Enables providers to offer service plans with volume pricing, combined discounts, and minimum monthly revenue requirements.
- Adds support of new product configurations provided by PLM, which in turn enables the selling of Microsoft 365 NCE offers.
- Ensures clarity and consistency of charge calculation, which:
- Brings more robustness to your business
- Simplifies reconciliation
- Helps in profit and loss analysis
After Rating Engine is installed, the following scenarios are available for you, which are not available through the native CloudBlue Commerce rating functionality:
- Volume pricing
- Combined discounts for customers and resellers
How It Works
Rating Engine receives orders from BSS, generates charges for the related distribution chain participant (from the Vendor to the End Customer) and returns order details, reseller transactions, and provider charges.
