Allocating Dedicated IP Addresses to Service Nodes
This section explains how to assign dedicated IP addresses to service nodes for use by resellers and customers.
Important: This section is not applicable to deployments in Azure Cloud. The allocation of dedicated IP addresses from IP pools is not available in Azure.
By default, all websites hosted on a service node share the same IP address that is assigned to the service node. If you want to allocate dedicated IP addresses to websites, configure IP pools in CloudBlue Commerce. During the provisioning of a subscription, the first vacant IP address will be taken from the IP pool and will be assigned to the subscription and its websites. If a subscription is terminated and its websites are removed from the service node, the IP address that it used is released and it becomes available for provisioning and assignment to new websites.
If you want to allocate dedicated IP addresses to customers, do the following:
- Go to Infrastructure > IP Addresses > IP Pools tab.
- Click Add New IP Pool or Add New IPv6 Pool, depending on whether you want to create a pool with IPv4 or IPv6 addresses.
- Specify the following:
- For IPv4 pools:
- IP pool name
- Initial IP – the first IP address in the range
- Final IP – the last IP address in the range
- Netmask – netmask of the IP pool subnet
- Gateway – default gateway of the IP pool subnet
- For IPv6 pools:
- IP pool name
- Address Prefix – network prefix
- Prefix Size – decimal value identifying the network
- Subnet Prefix Size – decimal value specifying the subnetwork within the network
- Gateway – default gateway of the IP pool subnet
- For a range of IPv4 addresses, specify to whom it should be available: select Everyone.
- Under Purpose, select Shared Hosting.
- Click Submit.
- Click the IP pool name > Hosts tab > Attach.
- Select the check box next to the service node to which you want to assign this IP pool and click Submit.
If you plan to onboard resellers, you must allocate dedicated IP addresses to the UI branding node:

- Under Purpose, select Branding configuration.
- Click Submit.
- Click the IP pool name > Hosts tab > Attach.
- Select the check box next to the UI branding node and click Submit.
