Updating Costs

Important: This functionality is available only for a Provider or Resellers acting as Operating Units.

To update costs for existing products in Product Inventory, complete these steps:

  1. The Prices menu item is available in both classic panel and in UX1. Depending on the panel, complete the steps below.

    • In classic panel, go to Services > Prices and click Update prices.

    • In UX1, go to Portfolio > Prices and click Update prices.

  2. Browse for the Excel file with the updated costs and prices to upload. The file must meet the requirements described in this section.

  3. To update product costs, select the Cost parameter and specify the date when costs from the uploaded become effective. You can also select Prices to update both product costs and prices.

    Note: When you view products in Product Inventory, their cost on the current date will be displayed. Costs that are no longer or not yet valid will not be displayed.

  4. Click Next.

  5. If any mandatory columns cannot be identified, you will be prompted to map missing columns onto the ones from the file. Do this and click Next.

  6. If the information about fee type is missing you will be prompted to select the fee type to be updated for the products in the file. If you are updating tiered or volume prices, you will be prompted to choose the pricing model to which to apply the price changes.

    Important: Cost updates will be applied in all products from the uploaded file to the fee type selected in this step. Make sure that all products in the file has the same fee type.

  7. Review the updated costs. To display current costs, and delta between the old and new cost, select the Compare with current prices checkbox.

  8. After you click Finish, a task for cost update will be scheduled. When it completes, the changes will be applied.
