Subscribing to a Service Template

If you use CloudBlue Commerce in combination with Billing, new customers are subscribed to a service template in the End-Customer and Reseller Marketplaces.

If there is no Billing in CloudBlue Commerce, you can subscribe resellers and customers to service templates using the CloudBlue Commerce user interface. The following ways are possible:

• From the Customer or Reseller management screen:

  1. Depending on the type of account you want to subscribe, do one of the following:

     • Go to Operations > Customers. Click the name of the required customer.
     • Go to Operations > Resellers. Click the name of the required reseller.
  2. Open the Subscriptions tab.
  3. Click Create New Subscription.

  4. In the list, click the name of the service template you want to use for the subscription. You can view the list of resources included in the service template. The limit of each resource is indicated in the list.

     Note: This resource limit may be changed by an external system in a way that the current usage will exceed the maximum limit.

  5. If you want to change resource limits, enter new values into the required fields. Skip this step if you want to use the default values.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Finish.

• From the Service Template management screen:

  1. Go to Products > Service Templates.
  2. Click a name of the service template you want an account to be subscribed to.
  3. Open the Subscriptions tab and click Create New Subscription.
  4. Click the name of the required account in the list. You can view a list of resources included in the service template. The limit of each resource is indicated in the list.

  5. If you want to change resource limits, enter new values into the required fields. Skip this step if you want to use the default values.

     Note: Resource limits may be changed by an external system in a way that the current usage will exceed the maximum limit.

  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Finish.

• From the list of subscriptions:

  1. Go to Operations > Subscriptions.
  2. Click Create New Subscription.
  3. Click the name of the account you want to subscribe.
  4. Click the name of the service template you want to use for a new subscription. You can view the list of resources included in the service template. The limit of each resource is indicated in the list.

  5. If you want to change resource limits, enter new values into the required fields. Skip this step if you want to use the default values.

     Note: Resource limits may be changed by an external system in a way that the current usage will exceed the maximum limit.

  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Finish.

After you have subscribed a customer or reseller to a particular service template using one of the above methods, all resources of this service template will be provisioned to the customer or reseller account automatically.
