Adding Tax Category

Tax Category is a group of plan or resource categories to which a Tax is applied (for example, "Telecommunication services", or "Software and licenses"). Tax categories are useful when the provider must charge different taxes for different products: for example, providing collaboration tools must be charged VAT 20%, and downloading software must be charged VAT 10%.

To add a tax category:

  1. In Billing control panel, go to System > Settings > Taxation > Tax Zones and Tax Categories > Tax Categories tab. The list of tax categories presented in your system appears on the screen (empty by default).
  2. Click Add New Tax Category. The adding new tax category dialog window is displayed.
  3. Input a tax category name as it will be referred to in Billing into the Tax Category ID field.
  4. Input a free-form description of the category into the Description field.
  5. Click Save to finish adding the new tax category.
