Configuring Advanced Billing Terms

In the Billing Terms tab of a service plan profile, you can specify how to charge for the current billing period when switching a service plan or a subscription period, or changing a resource limit.

Important: This tab is displayed only when Rating Engine is installed and enabled, service plans are configured with Rating Engine, and the Price Management application is installed.

To set how to deal with these charges for a service plan:

  1. Go to Product > Service Plans and select the required service plan.
  2. Go to the Billing Terms tab.
  3. Specify for which resource amount to charge for a current billing period when upsizing or downsizing:
    • Actual amount (prorated charges): this is the regular behavior

    • Old amount: a current period is charged for an old amount; no refunds or penalties are applied

    • New amount: a current period is charged for a new amount; no refunds or penalties are applied.

  4. Specify for which service plan or subscription period to change for a current billing period when upgrading or downgrading:
    • Actual price (prorated charges): this is the regular behavior

    • Old price: a current period is charged for an old service plan or subscription period

    • New price: a current period is charged for a new service plan or subscription period.

    Note: Resource upgrade must be configured for a service plan.
