Configuring Auto-Renewal for Service Plan Subscriptions

You can configure the auto-renewal subscription period settings in accordance with your business needs:

  • In the service plan General settings.
  • In the service plan Subscription Periods settings.

Important: The auto-renewal settings in the Subscription Periods tab override the subscription-level auto-renewal settings in the General tab. For more detail, please see below.

The system applies auto-renewal settings using the following order of priority:

  • If the renewal period is NOT configured in the Subscription Period settings of the service plan, the subscription renewal occurs according to the period specified in the service plan's General settings.
  • If the renewal period is configured in the Subscription Period settings of the service plan the subscription is based on, the subscription is renewed according to these settings.

Note: After renewing a Charge After Billing Period subscription, the customer will receive a billing order which has two details (per resource and plan) which are split into details before renew and after. Even in case subscription prices are not changed, after renewal the Billing order will still contain two times more details.

Important: If the auto-renewal is enabled, the corresponding buttons: Disable Auto-Renew and Enable Auto-Renew for UX1 for Customers are available in the subscription's profile. If the auto-renewal is disabled for a plan or subscription period, customers cannot enable this manually for their subscriptions. That is, this setting influence on a customer's possibility to operate the auto-renewal option by themselves.

If auto-renewal is enabled for a service plan, customers can change auto-renewal settings for their subscriptions. For services provisioned by an external provisioning system, CloudBlue Commerce can pass information about auto-renewal setting change under the following conditions:

  • OSS component is upgraded to version 21.8 or higher.

  • The setting is changed for the subscription to the plan that is managed by PLM.

  • Service connector is configured to accept the following parameter:

    • cb_autorenewal

    which can have one of these values:

    • active_auto_renewal_status

    • inactive_auto_renewal_status
