Configuring Country Specific Settings

The Country Specific Settings are made for the list of countries that are used in fraud screening plug-ins, account registration dialogs, and so on. Some special configuration related mostly to taxation, can be made here per country.

To adjust the country specific settings:

1. Open System > Settings > More Finance Settings > Country Specific Settings.
2. Select a country from the list by clicking on a country code or country name.
3. Click the Edit button.

4. Adjust the tax requirements for personal accounts:

   • If Tax Registration Required for Persons:

     Define whether to prompt a customer (person) to enter tax registration ID on checkout. Select the needed option from the drop-down list:

     • Not required. The field is not shown on checkout screen.
     • Optional. The field is shown on checkout screen as optional parameter.
     • Required. The field is shown on checkout screen as mandatory parameter.
   • Use MOD10 Verification. If you want to use the MOD10 checksum algorithm for personal tax registration ID verification, check the box next to this field.
   • Regular expression for personal Tax ID. Enter the regular expression for personal tax registration ID format validation.
   • If Tax Registration Required for Companies. The same as for personal accounts, but to be applied to companies. Select the needed variant.
   • Use MOD10 Verification. Check the box next to this field to use MOD 10 for company tax registration ID format validation.

   • Regular expression for company Tax ID. Enter the regular expression for company tax registration ID format validation.

     Note: for some countries, mostly European and EU, the default regular expressions for tax ID validation are pre-filled. If these fields are empty, this means that no default regular expression provided for this country and if you need to validate tax IDs using regular expressions, then please enter it by yourself.

   • State/Province is required. To make the State/Province field a required parameter to be entered at checkout screen, check the box next to this field.
5. Click the Save button to save the changes.
