Managing Notifications About Payment Methods Which Need Cardholder Consent

To comply with requirements of global payment systems, you may need to request cardholder consent to store payment methods and also to configure CloudBlue Commerce to automatically delete payment methods for which no such consent has been obtained within a set period of time.

Notifications to customers about such payment methods and about their upcoming deletion will help you to ensure customer satisfaction.

When configuring CloudBlue Commerce to automatically request such cardholder consent and to delete payment methods for which such consent is not provided, you can either use the Default notification schedule or configure your own notification schedule.

To configure a custom notification schedule to request such cardholder consent:

  1. Go to Billing > System > Settings > System > Notifications > Schedules > Reminder About Payment Method Expiration Due to No Consent.
  2. Click Add New Reminder. Complete Schedule Name. Save the changes.
  3. Configure the necessary notifications:
    1. Click the schedule in the list. Switch to the Schedule Details tab.
    2. Click Add New Schedule Detail. Complete the form:
      • Send Time: choose when to send the notification, before or after the event specified by Notification Template (usually after a payment method is created and before and after it is deleted).
      • Days: specify how many days before or after the event.
      • Notification Template: choose one of the templates depending on the purpose of the notification (to request cardholder consent or to warn about the upcoming deletion of a payment method). If necessary, configure a custom notification template.
      • Active: select the check box to activate the new notification.
    3. Save the changes.
    4. To create other notifications, repeat the process.
  4. To delegate the new notification schedule to resellers by default, select the schedule in the list and click Mark as Default above the list of schedules.
