Registering PowerDNS Servers in the System

Register the PowerDNS servers that you prepared in the system. To do this, perform the following steps for each server:

  1. In the provider control panel, go to Services > Domains.

  2. Select the DNS tab.

  3. Select the Nameservers subtab.

  4. Click Register DNS service.

  5. In the Type list, select PowerDNS.

  6. Specify the following parameters:

    • Public FQDN: The FQDN of the server. For example: ns01.provider.com

    • Service IP address: The public IP address of the server. For example: 8.8.8.8

    • Management IP address: The private IP address of the server which is used for HTTPS access to the PowerDNS REST API. For example: 10.10.10.10

    • Management port: The port of the server which is used for HTTPS access to the PowerDNS REST API. For example: 443

    • API key: The PowerDNS REST API key of the server.

    • API SSL certificate: The SSL certificate of the server which is used for HTTPS access to the PowerDNS REST API.

Important: You must use the SSL certificate that you prepared as described in PowerDNS Configuration Requirements. This certificate must contain the private IP address of the server in its SAN field.

      For example:

      -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
      MIIDVTCCAj2gAwIBAgIJAIC+wcBnts46MA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBCwUAMFIxCzAJBgNV
      ...
      99XUfIYSiuHqvM6zVwYYwf/EFpXJsyGf8j/gDfHZ4B8AS0u6x8J/WOE=
      -----END CERTIFICATE-----
  7. Check the values that you specified and click Submit.

After registering the servers, you can proceed to creating DNS resources in the system, as described in this section.
