Adding a Reseller Service Template

A reseller template has several configuration parameters defining reseller default order flow, branding, and account settings:

  • Branding Template. This is Operations hosting template. During provisioning of order placed by a potential reseller, Billing creates a hosting subscription from this template. This subscription is intended as location for reseller-specific branding data, such as a website.
  • Order Flow. This template defines the order flow to be copied to the reseller.
  • External Provisioning Template. This template defines the external system where a reseller account is to be created. Operations does not allow ordinary customers to resell services. In order for a reseller to be able to resell CloudBlue Commerce services, the PEM Reseller template should be selected here.

To add a reseller template:

  1. Go to Products > Service Plans > Service Templates tab. A list of configured service templates appears.
  2. Click Add New Service Template. The adding new service template wizard starts.
  3. Select the Resellers Management service gate in the Service Gates list.
  4. Click Next to proceed to the next wizard step. Fill out the form:

    • Type a name of the new template in the Name field.
    • Type a new template version in the Version field. For example, "1". Versions are used for your convenience only.
    • Select the Active check box to make the template active and available for inclusion in service plans. It is recommended to leave the template inactive until it is fully configured. If the template was made inactive while being used in a service plan, the plan gets disabled by template as well.
    • In the Branding Template drop-down list, select a branding template to use.

Note: Operations has special resources that control ability of an account to have child accounts, i.e. they control the ability of the account to operate as a reseller. If the branding template is an Operations hosting template, make sure these resources are included in it. Refer to Operations documentation for description of these resources.

    • In the Order Flow drop-down list, select an order flow template to use.
    • Select the Copy Fraud Filter Settings check box to make your fraud screening settings copied to a reseller. This greatly speeds up fraud screening configuration by the reseller as he or she will have to do only slight modification of the already configured settings.
    • In the External Provisioning Template field, select an external provisioning template to use.
    • In the Default Customer Class Template drop-down list, select a Customer Class that will be used as the template for the default Customer Class while creating new resellers.

Note: You can use a Customer Class template to specify some parameters to be inherited by the provider's resellers. For example, you can create a Customer Class with the Generate Billing Orders per Subscription option selected for customers of the resellers to receive separate billing orders for their subscriptions by default.

  5. Click Save to finish creating the reseller template.
