Deploying or Upgrading the Identity Service

To deploy the Identity Service component:

  1. Ensure the prerequisites.
  2. Follow the common CloudBlue Commerce component deployment procedure using the Identity Service deployment parameters in the config.yaml.

Note: The Identity Service component requires a database to store information about user credentials and configuration settings. The database for the component, the database structure, and the secret with database access settings are automatically created by the a8n-db component during the Identity Service component's deployment. The database server is chosen based on the settings of a8n-db specified in config.yaml.

When installation is complete, Identity Service will appear in the applications list at Provider Control Panel > Operations > Services > Applications.

The overall time of credential migration might take up to 30 minutes. During the migration procedure, the classic login form will be used, meaning no downtime is expected. To check that the procedure is complete, do the following:

  1. In Operations PCP, go to Operations > Tasks.
  2. Find the task named Identity service migration.
  3. Check that the task is not failed.

Limitation: You cannot change user passwords during migration.

How to Upgrade the Identity Service to the Latest Version

To upgrade the Identity Service component, follow Upgrading Components using the Identity Service deployment parameters in the config.yaml.
