Enabling the Identity Service

By default, the Identity Service is disabled. After deploying the Identity Service, enable it by doing the following:

  1. Log in to the Operations control panel.
  2. Go to Services > Identity Service.
  3. On the Settings tab, click Edit.
  4. Select the Enable IDP check box and click Submit. This option is system-wide and applied to all accounts.
  5. Wait until all the running tasks in the Task Manager are complete.

Note: The background tasks may take long time as they perform migration of user credentials from the OSS DB to the Identity Service DB. The system is fully operational during the migrating.

Disabling Identity Service

Important: If a two-factor authentication is enabled, you must disable it after Identity Service disabling and enable again after Identity Service enabling.

You can turn off the Identity Service in case of unexpected system behavior during user login or logout, or errors in processing of the “Identity service migration” task:

  1. Log in to the Operations control panel using the old login URL https://<provider_brand_URL>/servlet/Turbine/frm/single/
  2. Go to Services > Identity Service.
  3. On the Settings tab, click Edit.
  4. Deselect the Enable IDP check box and click Submit.
  5. Wait until all the running tasks in the Task Manager are complete.
