What is Language Pack

Installed language pack defines Billing localization parameters: date, time and currency formats, negative sums color, decimal point symbol and the like.

Language packs are used in Billing for the following purposes:

  • Selecting Billing control panel interface language.
  • Specifying account language. Customers will receive notifications based on templates that have the same language assigned.
  • Assigning a notification template to specific language pack. Provider may create notification templates for different languages. Notification language depends on the language specified for account.

A Billing language pack is a bundle of control panels localization and a language description. A localization represents a text file that lists interface key words and their translations.

A general language pack represents a folder with the following files:

  • locale.<language_code>Billing interface localization dictionary. We strongly recommend that you use two-character language code as file extension. This extension is used register language in Billing interface and internal processes. For example, fr – French, es – Spanish and the like.
  • locale-info.<language_code> – a language description. The file contents is the following:

    english <language_name_in_English>
    native <native_language_name> – this name will be displayed in the list of languages on the Billing login screen.
    

Note: Files extensions (language codes) must be the same.

For example German language pack contains the following files:

  • locale.de
  • locale-info.de file contains the following entries:

    english German
    native Deutsch
