Accounts in Operations

Account is an Operations object. All users working with Operations are represented by accounts, and all operations a user performs within the system are actually performed on behalf of a certain account.

At the same time, an account is an abstract notion, meaning a record of a company that works with Operations; such a record contains general and contact information.

Accounts in Operations can be one of the following types:

  • Provider: the owner of hosts or various services installed on hosts that they provide to resellers and customers.
  • Reseller: the mediator between the provider and customers. The reseller can add and then manage their own reseller and customer accounts. These accounts form a hierarchy of accounts that is subordinate to the "top" reseller account.
  • Customer: the end user of the resources provided.

Staff members are active users of the system. A staff member represents a certain company that is registered in Operations. All operations on behalf of an account are physically performed by a staff member. When you create a new account in Operations, you simultaneously create the first staff member for this account. More staff members can be added to an account later if there is a need to share the scope of work between several staff members of one account.
