Group Operations

Lists may have buttons to invoke operations over list objects.

Buttons aligned to the left invoke operations over new objects. Generally, these are buttons responsible for creating or adding a new object.

Buttons aligned to the right, the group operation buttons, serve to start operations over already existing objects in the list. Among such operations are deleting, running, stopping, resetting, enabling or disabling an object. To fulfill an operation over an existing object from the list, you need to first select the object by clicking the corresponding check box in the leftmost column.

Note: If no object is selected, the group operation buttons are disabled.

Similarly, you can execute the same operation over several objects at once. For this purpose, select the necessary check boxes and click the operation button.

You can also perform the operation over all the objects present on the current page of the list. For this purpose, select the check box in the list header. As a result, all objects on the current page will be automatically selected.

In multi-page lists, all group operations are performed on one page only, according to the following principles:

  • When some objects are selected on one page, moving to the next page disables all group operations.

Note: This principle does not apply to object creation wizards; in those, all options selected on previous pages are saved and do not prevent object selection on further pages.

  • If multiple objects are selected and the list is then filtered using the Search option, the operation is performed on visible objects only. Invisible objects, even if selected, remain intact.
  • To perform a certain operation on all objects in the list, you need to perform it on each page separately by selecting all page items and clicking on the group operation button.

Note: When performing operations on all objects in the list, we recommend setting the Items per page parameter of the list to the maximum (100).

  • A single object in the list can also be selected by clicking in the random area over the object. The previously selected objects are deselected. By holding the CTRL or clicking the right mouse button, you can select multiple objects.
