Key Changes with Production Mode
After Price Manager is switched to production mode, this changes as follows:
-
All prices defined for Subscription Periods, Resource Rates are shown in UX1 > Portfolio > Prices. They are no longer displayed in Classic Panel.
-
All SKUs, if enabled and set up, are shown in UX1 > Portfolio -> Prices.
They are no longer displayed in the Classic Panels.
-
With Price Manager, it is possible to identify whether a price is defined or missing. Previously, when creating plans and resource rates, CloudBlue automatically assigned "0.00" prices. Now, you must configure such prices for the services that are offered for free and do not have a price.
If a price is not configured, the product cannot be purchased. -
After switching Price Manager to production mode, it is no longer necessary to run price synchronization for child accounts. Price Manager stores prices at the account owner level and has a logic to find appropriate prices for the required account.
Note: You only need to synchronize those resellers for which you used to synchronize prices once, right after switching Price Manager to production mode. This step is necessary to transfer price ownership to the account that configures the price and to remove redundant price copies. After that, price synchronization will no longer be required.
-
Before switching Price Manager to production mode, the Update Plan Fees and Update Resource Prices options were used to propagate price changes during reseller synchronization. After the switch, these options will be replaced with the Deactivate Reseller Prices option, which will disable redundant reseller prices.
-
Price Manager adds the ability to set prices at multiple levels of the distribution chain using the "Recommended Prices" feature.
