Operation Result

When operating application resources (creating, updating, editing, or removing), be sure that on the final screen of the operation, the user receives clear and explicit statement whether the operation is finished successfully or not. In a case the operation failed, the statement must contain the information about the reason of failure and the subsequent steps the user can take to resolve the problem. The following are sample notifications displayed in PCP:

If it is impossible to declare the operation result immediately, the user must also be notified about it. For example, when the operation needs more time to complete, the statement must contain information about the operation progress or the approximate time the operation can take (“wait a few seconds for operation to complete”) and how to find out the operation is done (“refresh the page”).
