Cancelling Subscriptions

Azure subscriptions can contain critical data and users must be sure to back them up and then remove them from the Azure Cloud upon the subscription cancellation.

When an Odin Automation subscription is canceled, the corresponding Azure subscription is suspended, but not deleted. Its resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, and virtual networks are not deleted from the Azure Cloud. While these resources remain in Azure, they incur usage fees and are reflected in invoices, until they are deleted manually.

To cancel a subscription, go to Provider Panel > Billing > Operations > Subscriptions > subscription name > Cancel Subscription.

When an Azure subscription is canceled, all the involved parties (Odin Automation accounts that are configured as a Microsoft partner, reseller, or tenant) receive a notification prompting to manually delete resources from the Azure Cloud. If you are a partner or a reseller, we recommend that you contact your customer and advise them to back up their data and delete resources from the Azure Cloud within 24 hours since the subscription cancellation.

Notes:
1. Notifications are sent to the staff members whose email addresses are specified in the billing account information.
2. If customers do not plan to delete resources by themselves, the reseller or the provider should delete them within the same 24 hours.
3. Fulfilling the cancellation order will take as many days as specified in the Collect resources usage after subscription cancellation (days) parameter in service template settings.

If you want to remove a subscription from Odin Automation and Billing without deleting any data from Azure Cloud, go to Provider Panel > Services > Applications > Azure Cloud Solution Provider > application instance name > Customers tab. Select the checkbox next to the subscription and click Do not suspend in Azure. After that, go to Billing > Operations > Subscriptions > subscription name > Cancel Subscription.
