Managing Notifications and Administrative Permissions (AOBO)
Important: This documentation is for the APS-based Azure integration solution. If you are using a Connect-based Azure integration solution, please refer to the Connect documentation.
There is a special mechanism that Microsoft now uses to track relations between vendors and their customers and to calculate discounts for vendors correctly. It is called admin on behalf of, or AOBO, for short.
The Azure CSP application sets all the AOBO permissions for all newly created subscriptions automatically; however, there might be cases when customers inadvertently remove the AOBO permissions from their subscriptions. This will result in CSP partners and resellers losing their discounts. To avoid this, we recommend that you follow these steps:
- Regardless of whether you are a CSP partner or a reseller, be sure to list one or several email addresses to which notifications will be sent if the AOBO permissions for a customer's subscription are lost. To do this, go to Reseller Panel > Services > Azure Partner (NCE) > Notification Admins tab, and add email addresses.
- If you receive such a notification, contact the customer and tell them that they need to log in to the CloudBlue Commerce Customer Panel and restore permissions. To do that, they need to select Azure CSP NCE from the left-hand navigation pane and click Restore AOBO. A sign-in window opens in a new browser tab. After logging in to the Azure Portal, they must accept a request for permissions.
