Configuring Automatic Plesk Licensing

In Cloud Infrastructure Automation, you can configure automatic provisioning of Plesk licenses for all Plesk configurations, or disable it for the particular Plesk configurations if needed.

Auto-provisioning of Plesk licenses is managed by two options:

  1. The global option allows you to auto-generate Plesk licenses for all Plesk configurations. To enable this option, you must set up an integration with Partner Central. Partner Central (formerly Key Administrator) is Plesk licensing system. To learn more about Partner Central (https://central.plesk.com/ui), refer to the Partner Central User Guide.

To resell Plesk licenses, a provider must sign a partnership agreement with Plesk and register as a reseller of Plesk. When it is signed, the provider will get Partner API credentials, and an account in Plesk licensing system, which can be used to auto-generate Plesk licenses.

To integrate with Partner Central, which allows to automatically generate license keys for Plesk, you need to specify your Partner API credentials in Odin Automation:

    1. In OA Operations control panel, go to Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Plesk in VPS > Integration with Licensing System and click Edit.
    2. Specify the following parameters:

      • Client ID in Partner Central
      • Partner API login
      • Partner API password
    3. Select the Use a custom licensing server option if you want to define a custom one. Fill in the Custom Partner Central URL field.
    4. Select the Automatically order license keys for Plesk from the licensing system and install them during the deployment of Plesk in VPS option, and click Save Changes.

You can test the connection with Partner Central by clicking the respective button.

  2. Per-configuration option allows you to auto-generate Plesk licenses for a particular Plesk configuration. This option works only in case the global option is enabled. To configure it, go to Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Plesk in VPS > Plesk Configurations. Open a particular Plesk configuration by clicking its name.

    • To enable Plesk license auto-provisioning for this particular Plesk configuration, in License group select Automatically generate and install Plesk license.
    • To disable Plesk license auto-provisioning for this particular Plesk configuration, in License group unselect Automatically generate and install Plesk license.

Possible combinations of both settings and the results are shown in the table below.
