Create Network Group

Each network group must contain at least two IP address pools: one private pool and one public pool. Currently, public pools may include both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses while private pools may consist of IPv4 addresses only. For detailed information on creating IP address pools, refer to the Cloud Infrastructure Deployment Guide >> Setting Up Network > Creating IP Pools.

To create a network group:

  1. In Operations control panel, go to Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Cloud Infrastructure Network.
  2. Click Add New Group.
  3. In the Name field, specify a name for the network group. This name will uniquely identify this network group among other network groups.
  4. Under Public Pools, click New and create the public IPv4 pool.

Specify the following parameters: a descriptive name of the IP pool (for example, Cloud Infrastructure Automation Public Pool), the start and end IP addresses, network mask, gateway.

A customer will be able to purchase IP addresses from the public IP pool and assign them to their virtual servers. Public IP addresses will be used for external connections.

  5. Under Private Pools, click New and create the private IPv4 pool.

Specify the parameters as described for the public IP pool above.

When a customer creates the first virtual server, a subnetwork of IP addresses will be created inside the private IP pool and this server will automatically get a private IP address from this subnetwork.

  6. (Optional) Under Public IPv6 Pools, click New and create the public IPv6 pool.

Specify the following parameters: a descriptive name of the IP pool (for example, Cloud Infrastructure Automation Public v6 Pool), the network address prefix and prefix size, gateway.

  7. Add at least one DNS server. The DNS server will translate the hostnames of your customer's virtual servers into their public IP addresses.
  8. If you have Virtuozzo storage high availability cluster in your system, you can assign this cluster to the network group by typing the cluster name in the Name field before clicking Submit. For more information on Virtuozzo storage cluster, refer to the Cloud Infrastructure Deployment Guide >> Setting Up Infrastructure > Setting Up Virtuozzo Storage Cluster (Optional).
  9. Click Submit to complete the network group creation.

The network group appears in the Cloud Infrastructure Network list.
