Requirements to Virtualization Node

A virtualization node must meet the following requirements:

Server Names CIVZ

Description

Virtualization node. It is intended for use in the Cloud Infrastructure Automation to host Linux containers and Linux/Windows virtual machines.

Density

Number of virtual servers depends on the node hardware and Virtuozzo license.

Quantity

Number of nodes depends on the planned customer base.

OS

No OS is required.

Software

To be installed by Ingram Micro:

  • Virtuozzo 6.0 update 11 or later
  • Virtuozzo 7.0
  • OpenVZ 7

Virtualization node requires Virtuozzo license installation (in case of Virtuozzo node).

CPU

1.5 GHz or faster processor with Intel VT-x or ADM-V hardware virtualization support. A 64-bit processor is required for running 64-bit guest OSs in virtual servers.

RAM

2 GB or more (4 GB is recommended). The required amount depends on the number of virtual servers you plan to run on the node.

Disks

Array 1:

  • Software and data

– at least 100 GB is recommended.

The required amount depends on the software to be installed in virtual servers.

Disk Partitioning

Array 1:

  • /root – 10–12 GB
– for Virtuozzo files
  • 2–32 GB, depending on the RAM size
– for swap
  • /vz – remaining space. At least 88 GB is recommended.
– for virtual servers' data

NICs

BackNet, FrontNet

FrontNet should be added to the bridged virtual network that should be created manually.

The node will communicate with the Instance Manager over UDP port 161. Make sure it is opened.

For VNC connections via FrontNet, including console access to virtual servers from CloudBlue Commerce control panels, ports 5800-6800 must be opened.

For more information on the requirements for Virtuozzo, refer to Virtuozzo Installation Guide.

Note: Please do not modify the iptables settings on Virtuozzo nodes that you are planning to add to Cloud Infrastructure Automation.
