Setting Up OS and Application Templates

In Cloud Infrastructure Automation, you work with two types of templates:

  • OS templates. An OS template is an operating system and a standard set of applications to be found right after the installation. You use OS templates to create new virtual servers with pre-installed operating systems.
  • Application templates. An application template is a set of software packages re-packaged for use in Cloud Infrastructure Automation. You use application templates to add extra software to the existing virtual servers. For example, if you include application template mysql in the virtual server template, your customer will be able to install mysql in a virtual server via the customer control panel.

Note: In the current version of the Cloud Infrastructure Automation, you can set up application templates for containers only.
