About Cloud Infrastructure Automation Federation Service
Providers can have multiple data centers in different locations. Each location implies a separate infrastructure, CloudBlue Commerce instance, Cloud Infrastructure Automation instance. When a customer purchases Cloud Infrastructure Automation subscription and selects the desired location, the account and subscription is created in the chosen region.
But what if a customer wants to buy servers in different regions at the same time managing them through the single control panel and having all the information in one place.
Cloud Infrastructure Automation Federation service is the solution that allows to consolidate data about a customer and his or her Cloud Infrastructure Automation subscriptions with different regions in one place. Moreover, it allows a provider to reduce costs by decreasing the number of Cloud Infrastructure Automation instances required for different locations, reduce time to launch IaaS, easily synchronize price and offer changes across multiple regions.
Cloud Infrastructure Automation Federation service allows to deploy a platform with multinational provisioning of IaaS.
How it Works
From a customer's point of view, previously to buy a server in UK, the customer used the UK marketplace, CloudBlue Commerce installed in UK provisioned servers on UK nodes. If a customer needed to buy a server in other country, he or she used the respective marketplace, the CloudBlue Commerce provisioned the server to the respective location. As a result, a customer has several accounts and subscriptions in different locations and CloudBlue Commerce installations.
The Federation service allows to provision servers in different locations using one CloudBlue Commerce installation. A customer buys servers via one marketplace, for example in UK, selecting the desired location of the server. The server is provisioned to the desired location. As a result, the customer gets one account and subscription in CloudBlue Commerce installation with servers provisioned to different locations. They can be easily managed by the customer via one control panel.
